The swine flu scare didn’t dampen the spirits of Vishal Bharadwaj’s ‘Kaminey’. The movie has hit a bull’s eye after its worldwide release.

It is said that the movie has made a gross collection of Rs. 330 million (Rs 33 crore) in its opening weekend. Though ‘Kaminey’ was not released in some parts of Maharashtra on 13 Aug, the movie enjoyed immense response from other places.

Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO of UTV Motion Pictures had said, “Kaminey has surpassed all expectations with the sort of business it has achieved in the first weekend of release itself, coupled with the critical acclaim it has generated in India and around the world.”

The movie made the leading actors– Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra – to achieve instant fame and their performances have been well-appreciated by viewers from all over places. The director, Vishal Bharadwaj, has too emerged as a distinguished filmmaker, bringing a difference through the movie. Sources have revealed the movie to be the second biggest opening of the year in India as well as the US and UAE. Besides that, ‘Kaminey’ has received biggest opening inPakistan and Australia as well.
